Berrechid Tax Office

Location: Berrechid, Morocco

Surface: 9600m²

Year: 2024

Located along Avenue Mohamed V, the Berrechid Provincial Tax Office is strategically positioned to offer optimal visibility and stand out in a bustling urban environment. Situated on the eastern side of the site, this placement maximizes visual impact and creates an identifiable urban landmark between the Bank of Afrika branch and the National Security building.

The building’s volumetry meets functional requirements while adhering to local regulations and the surrounding context. The project comprises several distinct volumes: the base, aligned with the street level, ensures a smooth transition with the public space; the main body, slightly set back from the base, marks the primary entrance and provides architectural unity; and an emerging structure on the upper levels adds dynamic verticality. The facade is enveloped in a secondary skin that incorporates sun-shading elements to optimize energy performance and provide a comfortable indoor environment.

At the corner formed by the 12-meter street and Boulevard Mohamed V, a glass cylinder adorned with the Berrechid Provincial Tax Office logo serves as an iconic element, enhancing the building’s visual identity. This emblematic feature guides visitors and emphasizes the institutional presence in the urban landscape.

The design includes three distinct access points: the main entrance on the boulevard, offering an accessible public entry and a spacious reception hall; the staff entrance on the 12-meter street, facilitating employee mobility and access to the underground parking; and the service entrance at the rear, dedicated to maintenance and emergency operations. These strategically positioned access points ensure smooth circulation and harmonious integration into the urban environment.

The building’s levels are organized to meet the specific needs of its occupants: the ground floor houses the reception area and front office; the upper floors are dedicated to offices and various departments of the Tax Office; and the basement is allocated for parking and archives. This functional organization, combined with a sustainable and modern approach, creates an inspiring and efficient workspace while adhering to sustainable development principles.
